Boris Johnson ‘sitting up and doing well’ as Rishi Sunak announces £750m charity funding

Rishi Sunak started the daily briefing by announcing Boris Johnson remains in intensive care but has been sitting up in bed and is “doing well.”

The Chancellor also announced a £750 million funding boost to the charity sector as it struggles to cope with the coronavirus.

Sunak experienced a meteoric rise, first to be selected for the “safest” Conservative seat in the UK, without having ever contested an election; he would later become the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer in under five years.
