Boris Johnson delivers statement on new three-tier coronavirus restrictions for England

Guardian News published this video item, entitled “Boris Johnson delivers statement on new three-tier coronavirus restrictions for England” – below is their description.

Boris Johnson has told a press conference that rising coronavirus cases and hospital admissions meant that the government had to simplify, standardise and in some places toughen local rules by introducing three levels of Covid alert: medium, which includes existing national measures such as the rule of six and 10pm curfew for hospitality; high, which has extra measures including a ban on indoor social mixing between households; and very high, for places which without swift action the NHS would be under intolerable pressure.  ‘No one, least of all me, wants to impose these kinds of restrictions, erosions of our personal liberties, but I’m as convinced as I’ve ever been that the British people have the resolve to beat this virus,’ the prime minister said.   Boris Johnson unveils three-tier Covid restrictions for England
