A new train timetable with a huge increase in peak-hour services is being planned in a billion-dollar rail shake-up. When the Bankstown line converts to a metro service, hundreds of trains will be freed up to run on the T4 Eastern Suburbs South Coast line, the T8 Campbelltown line and the T2 Inner West line. “It’s going to quite literally be a ‘turn up and go’ service for many commuters, particularly in the peak hour services,” – Transport Minister Andrew Constance. The Bankstown Metro is expected to open in two years.
