RT published this video item, entitled “Bodycam shows Deon Kay running with a gun before fatal shooting” – below is their description.
WARNING: DISTURBING IMAGES Washington police released footage from the shooting of 18-year-old Deon Kay, which shows the young man carrying a handgun as he and another suspect attempted to escape law enforcement officers on foot. Police chief Peter Newsham clarified that the video was released to clear up any ‘misinformation’ which could ‘lead to a lot of disturbances,’ most likely referring to a new round of BLM protests that hit the capital in the fallout from the shooting. According to a statement shared by the Washington DC Police Department’s Twitter account, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers were dispatched in response to a call of a ‘man with a gun.’ Upon their arrival, two of the four suspects attempted to escape on foot. After a brief pursuit, one of the officers saw Kay brandishing a firearm and subsequently discharged his service weapon once, fatally shooting him in the chest.
