South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Bodies pile up at crematorium in Germany as Covid-19 daily death toll hits record” – below is their description.
At a crematorium in the German state Saxony, caskets are stacked three high in a memorial hall, piled up in empty offices and even stored in hallways. Many of the bodies are sealed with plastic wrapping, some labelled “infection risk” or simply “Covid-19”. Staff are trying to keep up with demand for funeral services as Germany struggles to curb the spread of the coronavirus, which caused 1,129 deaths on January 8, 2021, a daily record toll for the country.
