The League of Gentlemen, Little Britain, Come Fly with Me, The Mighty Boosh and Bo’ Selecta have all been removed this week from some streaming services – including the BBC iPlayer and Netflix – because of their use of blackface.
This follows two statues of slave traders coming down in Britain after a wave of Black Lives Matter protests around the world in the wake of George Floyd’s death at the hands of a US police officer.
TV presenter Trisha Goddard – one of the people impersonated in Channel 4’s Bo’ Selecta between 2002-2004 by white comedian Leigh Francis – is interviewed by Emma Barnett.
