‘Black Lives Matter’ demo tear gassed in Lille

Tear gas was fired and tensions escalated between protesters attending a ‘Black Lives Matter’ demo and police officers in #France’s #Lille on Saturday.

Riot police officers were seen dispersing the protesters and firing tear gas at them, as well as large group of demonstrators gathered at the city’s Place de la Republique holding signs and flags.

Lille residents joined thousands worldwide who are taking a stand against police brutality and systemic racism in their societies, in the aftermath of George Floyd’s killing in Minneapolis nearly two weeks ago.
