Joe Biden urged Americans to be calm amid news of the omicron variant of Covid-19, saying it is “almost inevitable” that the new mutation will reach the United States.

The president spoke in an address to the public and to reporters about the US strategy to combat the new variant, which emerged last week.

The news comes after the United States instated a travel ban for South Africa and seven other nations.
