After voting in the general election in Wilmington, Del. on Wednesday, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden took questions about the shooting death of Walter Wallace Jr., a 27-year-old Black man who died Monday in Philadelphia, Penn. after being shot by police and the resulting protests over his death, saying there was “no excuse” for violence or looting as a response. Since Monday, protests have broken out in the Pennsylvania city over Wallace’s death, but the demonstrations have in some cases been violent and looting has also taken place. The former vice-president said going forward, they need to look at how to diminish the prospect of lethal shootings and he would set up a commission to look into these sorts of changes.
