    Constructive and pragmatic.

That is how US president Joe Biden and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, have described their first face-to-face talks since Biden took office.

The two leaders agreed to resume talks on arms control and cybersecurity.

They also pledged to return ambassadors to each other’s capitals after they were withdrawn earlier this year.

But disagreements on issues, such as human rights and Ukraine, remain.
