Global News published this video item, entitled “Biden “not intending to cast doubt on legitimacy” of 2022 midterm elections: White House” – below is their description.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki tried to clear up any confusion Thursday, a day after President Joe Biden appeared to say the 2022 midterm elections could “easily be illegitimate” if voting rights legislation is not passed by Congress.
“He was not intending to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the (2022) election. He was actually attempting to make the opposite point which is in 2020, despite COVID, despite many attempts to suppress the vote, a record number of voters – Democrats, Republicans and Independents too – turned out in the face of a pandemic. And election officials made sure they could vote and have those votes counted,” Psaki said Thursday.
She continued: “He was also explaining that the results could be illegitimate if states did what the former president was asking them to do in more than a half a dozen states in 2020. Toss out ballots and overturn results after the fact.”
