US President Joe Biden has appointed Vice President Kamala Harris to manage the rise in migrant flows at its southern border.
Harris will lead US efforts, primarily with Mexico and also Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador to stem the flow of migration.
Critics of the Biden administration say the president who has touted a softer approach to asylum seekers is to blame for the increase in arrivals, particularly among unaccompanied children.
