President Joe Biden met with members of the Congressional Black Caucus in the Oval Office Tuesday, pledging to “deliver some real change.”

Speaking to the press at the start of the meeting, Biden said it’s “been a pretty painful week,” noting the death of longtime Florida Rep. Alcee Hastings, the police shooting of Daunte Wright in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota and the ongoing murder trial in the death of George Floyd.

The president said he’s committed to real racial equality, which he said is not just about prison reform, it’s about “being able to earn a living…about being in the position where you have economic opportunity.”

Biden also sought to easy anxiety about COVID-19 vaccines following the suspension by several states of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine that’s become the focus of a federal examination of rare blood clots.

Biden said his administration has ensured the nation has 600 million doses of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines.

“So there is enough vaccine, that is basically 100 percent, unquestionable, for every single, solitary, American,” Biden said.
