Joe Biden was captured on camera standing alone and looking frustrated as officials swarmed around Barack Obama during his first return trip to the White House since leaving office.
The US president was filmed raising his hands in the air in apparent frustration as he was sidelined for his predecessor at the event on Tuesday.
Mr Obama had been invited back to the White House by Mr Biden, his former vice president, to celebrate the 12th anniversary of his signature healthcare act, often referred to as “Obamacare”.
