Sky News Australia published this video item, entitled “Biden administration ‘unlikely’ to restore Iranian nuclear deal as aggression increases” – below is their description.
Liberal MP and former ambassador to Israel Dave Sharma says it is unlikely a Biden administration will restore the Iranian nuclear deal considering the Iranian government has grown increasingly aggressive over the last few years. “I don’t think the Iranian government has grown any more moderate … in fact, their tendency over the last several years has to become more belligerent and aggressive,” Mr Sharma told Sky News host Chris Kenny. “I don’t think we’re going to see with a Biden administration that it will go reflexively back to Obama-era policies. Including the JCPOA, this is the Iran nuclear deal. “I certainly think they will be open to some sort of new negotiation. “I think the intent behind the agreement was always that it should modify and moderate Iranian behaviour over time, it hasn’t done that and wasn’t doing that before Trump became elected and tore it up. “I think, before they embark on any new contract, they’ll be starting from a very different position.”
