Best day on Wall St in 90 years boosts ASX but don’t break out the champagne | Finance Report

ABC News (Australia) picked up the news that the US stock market surged into recovery mode on news of a USD $2 trillion rescue package on Tuesday… but was cautious about showing similar optimism for their ASX exchange:

The best day on Wall Street since the Great Depression has boosted the local share market, as well as markets in Asia and New Zealand, but history shows that a single-day double-digit rise in the sharemarket usually portends something quite bad.
