#China celebrates a technological feat that Chinese engineers have been working on for nearly three decades. On Tuesday, China launched its final satellite to form its own complete global navigation network, called the #BeiDou Satellite Navigation System. The constellation of satellites now gives the country its own navigation system that rivals GPS. The system is able to serve global users with positioning, navigation, timing, short message communication and international rescue services. Work on BeiDou began in 1994, and a partially-built system had already been providing services since 2019. Now that it’s complete, global users will finally be able to access everything it has to offer.
