Global News published this video item, entitled ““Be My Eyes” app brings sight to blind people with help from volunteers” – below is their description.
Technology has its pros and cons, but one Danish man wanted to harness its power to help others.
The vision of his mobile phone app, “Be My Eyes,” is to give blind people the ability to see the world a little better by instantly connecting those who are blind or have low-vision with volunteers from around the world.
As Miranda Anthistle explains, the app is a life-changer for blind and low-vision people, with the volunteers being able to help through video calls with anything from checking expiry dates on food to plating meals for dinner parties.
