Global News published this video item, entitled “BC floods: Environment Canada provides update as 1st expected atmospheric river arrives | LIVE” – below is their description.
Environment and Climate Change Canada will be providing an update Friday after the first of three atmospheric rivers hit B.C. on Thursday.
Parts of B.C.’s South Coast remained under weather warnings Thursday with between 50 millimetres and 80 millimetres of rain expected to fall in the Fraser Valley, Metro Vancouver and Howe Sound.
Environment Canada said the rain would be the heaviest Thursday as the storm moves across the South Coast.
Rainfall amounts are expected to be lower than the Nov. 13 to 15 event, which caused widespread and devastating flooding, landslides and mudslides that killed five people.
