Battle over Wide Bay-Burnett’s Paradise Dam | ABC News

ABC News (Australia) published this video item, entitled “Battle over Wide Bay-Burnett’s Paradise Dam | ABC News” – below is their description.

Irrigators relying on water from the Burnett River scheme had 100 per cent water allocations in the previous financial year – they’ve been informed they will only receive 22 per cent for the 2021-22 financial year.

Hundreds have signed up for a class action against the state government after Paradise Dam was revealed to have structural and stability issues in 2019.

The allocation cuts have forced some growers to prune trees back or remove them all together to reduce water usage.
