Barack Obama says Trump treating presidency as “one more reality show” | FULL SPEECH

Former U.S. President Barack Obama took aim at U.S. President Donald Trump, as he addressed the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday.

Obama said he had hoped Trump would “come to feel the weight of the office,” but said that hasn’t happened and that Trump has “shown no interest in putting in the work” since becoming president.

He said Trump has treated the presidency like “one more reality show” while 170,000 Americans have died from the coronavirus and millions have lost their jobs.

Speaking about Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, Obama said that when he chose the former vice president as his running mate he “didn’t know I’d end up finding a brother.”

About Kamala Harris, Obama said she is “someone who knows what it’s like to overcome barriers.”

Obama finished by stating that no single American “can fix this country alone” and, speaking to Americans, said Trump and those that support him are “counting on your cynicism” to win the election.
