Balikatan 2017: US and the Philippines start smaller-scale annual military exercise

Relations between the US and the Philippines may be strained, but their soldiers are still carrying out their annual joint military exercises. However, there is no sea-patrol training, war gaming or live ammunition at this year Balikatan exercise.
