The award ceremony was held behind closed doors with nominees accepting their awards virtually.

The Sky Atlantic drama Chernobyl has continued its sweep of the major awards, as well as Fleabag actress Sian Clifford, and Jodie Comer for her role in Killing Eve. The leading actress award went to Glenda Jackson, for her role in Elizabeth Is Missing – 48 years after her first BAFTA win.

The Chernobyl disaster was a nuclear accident that occurred on 26 April 1986 at the No. 4 reactor in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, near the city of Pripyat in the north of the Ukrainian SSR in the Soviet Union. It is considered the worst nuclear disaster in history both in cost and casualties.
