7NEWS Australia published this video item, entitled “Australia is bidding to host the 2027 Rugby World Cup | 7NEWS” – below is their description.

Rugby Australia launched its bid in Sydney today as it looks to bring the sport’s showpiece event down under for the first time since 2003.

And the organisers like their chances.

The winning bid will be announced in May next year.

“Hosting Rugby World Cup 2027 is a once-in-a generation opportunity for Australia, which would drive substantial economic outcomes for our country, while also providing a lasting legacy for rugby in this region” – Rugby Australia chairman Hamish McLennan.
