Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has admitted at a defence fair in London that if he were French he would be extremely disappointed over the Australian decision to axe diesel electric-submarines and switch to the UK and US technology for nuclear submarine propulsion.

The initiative announced this week will focus on helping the Australian navy procure a multi-billion-pound fleet of nuclear-powered submarines amid growing concerns over China.
