Boris Johnson has stressed that the new pact with Australia and the US “is not intended to be adversarial with any power”, in response to questions about China. 

Aukus demonstrates “the sheer level of trust between us”, which enables the three countries to share nuclear technology, in a move he described as “extraordinary”. 

They also have a shared interest in promoting democracy and freedom of trade around the world, the Prime Minister said.
