Attorney General Barr Slams China’s “Fundamental Character” in Speech on Chinese-American Policy

– “The ultimate ambition of China’s rulers isn’t to trade with the United States; it is to raid the United States.”
– “As its ruthless crackdown of Hong Kong demonstrates once again, China is no closer to democracy today than it was in 1989.”

Attorney General William Barr said China’s goal is to “replace” American businesses as global leaders, that “win-win in China means China wins twice,” and attacked the “fundamental character” of the Chinese Communist Party at a speech at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
