At least 11 children were killed in north-central Myanmar during a government air strike that authorities said was aimed at rebels on September 16, 2022. Soldiers rained gunfire from helicopters before entering the school in a Buddhist monastery compound in the township of Tabayin. The junta blamed the rebels for using civilians as human shields in Let Yet Kone village in the township’s Sagaing region.
