RT published this video item, entitled “AstraZeneca’s COVID vaccine shows average efficacy of 70%” – below is their description.
Preliminary results show that the COVID vaccine developed by the University of Oxford and British pharma company AstraZeneca works 70% of the time. UK PM Boris Johnson is more than happy with the results, and AstraZeneca’s CEO is optimistic as well, saying the jab will be ‘highly effective’ and will have an ‘immediate impact.’ RT speaks to Lawrence Young, a professor of molecular oncology at Warwick Medical School, to find out how good a result is 70% and how big a game changer would the vaccine be in terms of preventing a third wave of the pandemic – if it gets certified.
