China hopes to vaccinate 80 percent of its population to reach herd immunity. If it wants to reach that goal by the end of 2021, over 110 million people have to be vaccinated every month. That’s equivalent to vaccinating all of Italy and South Korea in a month. How is it going to get there, and what challenges stand in its way? We met with Sinovac, visited Zhengchuan Pharmaceutical’s vaccine glass vial factory, spoke to Gao Fu, head of the Chinese CDC, and saw how Shijingshan district residents are using songs to encourage others to get their shot.
