As the US and European countries record hundreds of thousands of infections from the Omicron Covid-19 variant ahead of the holiday season, in the Asia-Pacific region, cases remain relatively low. Many countries have been taking varying approaches to battling the new Covid-19 variant. While China is doubling down on its zero-Covid approach, in Australia Prime Minister Scott Morrison vowed on December 21, 2021, to move away from lockdowns.
