Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Argentina marks 75th anniversary of Peronism” – below is their description.
Argentina is commemorating the birth of Peronism. Events have been held to mark the 75th anniversary of protests calling for the release of imprisoned politician Juan Domingo Peron who went on to become president. After a tumultuous political career, Peron died in office in 1974. In this year’s celebration, many people remained in their cars, waving flags out of the windows, due to the coronavirus pandemic and the need for physical distancing, and also as a show of respect for the government and its efforts to control the pandemic.
