Argentina has approved a variety of wheat that’s been genetically engineered to resist drought. The country had already authorised other GM crops such as soybeans and potatoes, but the introduction of a transgenic wheat for human consumption is raising concern among consumers and experts. Plus, IBM has decided spin off its infrastructure services unit to focus on cloud computing and artificial intelligence. The 109-year-old company has been providing software and services to big companies and government agencies since it sold its PC business to Lenovo in 2005.
