Are women in Egypt being discriminated for wearing the hijab? – BBC News

BBC News published this video item, entitled “Are women in Egypt being discriminated for wearing the hijab? – BBC News” – below is their description.

In Egypt, discrimination on the basis of religion, sex, race or class is banned, but are women who wear the hijab being unfairly treated?

An undercover BBC investigation has looked into reports some women in the country are being rejected from restaurants and bars over their choice to wear a head covering.

Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism has said it has never banned veiled women from going to bars or restaurants, despite claims to the contrary by some staff and bouncers when turning away women.
