South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Ant Group poised to be world’s biggest private firm making public debut, with Hong Kong-Shanghai IPO” – below is their description.
Chinese fintech giant Ant Group won clearance from regulators on October 19, 2020, to begin marketing the Hong Kong tranche of its initial public offering (IPO). It was poised to secure approval from the China Securities Regulatory Commission for the Shanghai leg of a planned dual listing. The listings would make it the world’s first simultaneous dual IPO in Hong Kong and on Shanghai’s Star Market. The joint listings might also prove to be one of the biggest initial public offerings ever, with some estimates saying the IPOs could smash a record set by Saudi Aramco’s US$29.4 billion IPO in 2019.
