South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Annual cheese-rolling race in Gloucestershire returns after pandemic hiatus” – below is their description.
The Cooper’s Hill Cheese Roll is an annual competition that dates back centuries, but was suspended during the Covid-19 pandemic. It returned on June 5, 2022, with eager competitors vying to be the first to catch a 3kg (7lbs) wheel of Double Gloucester rolling down the steep Cooper’s Hill. Injuries are common and wet weather this year made the event even more difficult. Considered an extreme sport, cheese rolling attracts competitors from all over the world who are warned they participate at their own risk.
