The family of Anne Heche say the American actress “will be deeply missed but lives on through her beautiful sons” following a car crash in LA last week.

Under California law, Heche, 53, is legally dead but her family are keeping her heart beating and she has not been taken off life support as they seek a match for organ donation, in respect of her wishes.

Heche suffered significant burns and lung damage after crashing into a two-storey house in the Mar Vista area on the morning of Friday 5 August.
