Animals rescued from Australia floods, thousands evacuated from Sydney

South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Animals rescued from Australia floods, thousands evacuated from Sydney” – below is their description.

Flooding inundated some parts of Sydney on July 4, 2022, as the Australian city continues to be drenched by continuous heavy rainfall. Warragamba Dam, the city’s largest dam, released torrents of water from its spillways earlier than expected. Overflowing rivers have inundated swathes of land, transforming at least one large stretch into a lake. Australia’s emergency services have ordered around 30,000 people in Sydney to evacuate as forecasters warned that more severe weather was on the way.
