In tonight’s edition: Angolans vote to elect their first new leader in almost four decades. And after the deadly mudslide in Sierra Leone, many people are still missing. In South Africa, rhino horns go under the hammer in the country’s first online auction of its kind.
Angolans head to the polls in an election expected to mark the end of President Jose Eduardo dos Santos’s 38-year reign, with his MPLA party set to retain power despite an economic crisis.
In Sierra Leone, the death toll from last week’s mudslide is now approaching 500, and hundreds more are missing after one of the country’s worst ever natural disasters.
And despite international controversy, South Africa’s first online auction of rhino horns opened on Wednesday. The event has been organised by the owner of the world’s largest rhino farm who says he is doing it for the good of the animals.
