The Telegraph published this video item, entitled “Andrea Jenkyns MP fights back tears in Commons after learning of friend’s coronavirus death” – below is their description.

Conservative MP Andrea Jenkyns fought back tears after learning a friend had died of Covid-19 shortly before she made a House of Commons speech. The MP for Morley and Outwood paid tribute to a former band member after rising to her feet to contribute to a debate about post-Brexit fishing policy. “I have just received a text message alerting me to the news that a good friend of mine, a guitarist and former band member, has just died following a two-day battle with coronavirus,” she said during a debate about post-Brexit fishing policy. “I send my love and prayers to his wife and pay tribute to a gentle giant, an awesome guitarist and a true family man. Rest in peace.” She described him on Twitter as “a truly decent chap… who will be missed immensely by his family and friends”. Ms Jenkyns had earlier spoken in the Commons in support of the government’s new three-tier system of localised Covid-19 restrictions. Subscribe to The Telegraph on YouTube ► https://bit.ly/3idrdLH
