The French High Court has ruled a man who killed his elderly Jewish neighbour Sarah Halimi while high on drugs should not stand trial because he was under the influence of cannabis at the time. FRANCE 24’s Shirli Sitbon says while the decision has thrilled the defendant’s legal team, many see it as scandalous. The family will now pursue the case at the European Court of Human Rights.
