FRANCE 24 English published this video item, entitled “Analysis: Petronin release a victory for Macron, and jihadists” – below is their description.
Sophie Pétronin, an elderly aid worker who was the last French hostage in the world, was released on Thursday after being held captive by jihadists in Mali for nearly four years. As FRANCE 24’s international affairs editor Philip Turle explains, the release can be seen as a victory for French President Emmanuel Macron, but also for the 200 jihadists freed as part of her exchange.
