At least three people were killed and dozens injured after an Amtrak train traveling from Los Angeles to Chicago derailed on June 27. The train with 243 passengers aboard hit a dump truck blocking a public crossing. The train collision in Missouri at 12:42 p.m. on Monday local time was the second in two days in which an Amtrak train hit a passenger vehicle.
