Amid warming ties with Israel, Jewish community emerges from shadows in UAE

FRANCE 24 English published this video item, entitled “Amid warming ties with Israel, Jewish community emerges from shadows in UAE” – below is their description.

This Thursday saw the first ever scheduled flight between Dubai and Tel Aviv. The UAE and Israel are expected to have 28 weekly connections within a few weeks. These new flights follow the signature of the US-brokered Abraham Accords on September 15. In the Emirates, the Jewish community can now practice its faith openly. By opening borders to Israeli tourists and Jews from all over the world, the authorities also hope to revive several sectors of the economy, hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic. Our team reports from Dubai, the economic capital of the Emirates.
