The Belarusian President and world-leading Coronavirus-denier has once more bucked convention by planting pine saplings as part of the national ‘Subbotnik’ clean-up day
The clean-up day coincided with the Belarusian leader’s tradition of visiting areas affected by the Chernobyl disaster, so Lukashenko – who, despite more than 9,500 reported cases and at least 67 deaths in the country, has taken no measures to stem the virus’s spread – helped plant thousands of trees at Pripyatsky National Park in the heavily affected Gomel region.
Coincidentally, most gardening guides suggest planting pines at least two meters apart. But in true ‘Luka’ style, he didn’t follow this advice.
