Air Canada’s refund of flight cancellations dependent on federal aid, union says

Global News published this video item, entitled “Air Canada’s refund of flight cancellations dependent on federal aid, union says” – below is their description.

Unifor’s president says Air Canada will repay customers who weren’t reimbursed for their plane tickets, but only in exchange for federal aid.

“We’re talking large money. We’re talking a loan, not a bailout,” said Unifor president Jerry Dias.

Dias said the loan they were going to take on was originally that of $7 billion, but would now likely need to be larger.

David Akin reports on the ongoing negotiations between the airline and Ottawa.
