Tasmania’s forests have a long history of conflict, but they’ve been peaceful since a deal was struck between environmentalists and loggers almost a decade ago.
Now, a decision to phase out native logging in Victoria is expected to increase demand for Tasmanian timber.
With increasing protest activity across the state, it seems the ‘forest wars’ are back on.
