The Closing the Gap plan was supposed to improve persistent gaps in Indigenous health, education and employment, but 12 years on it has failed. To give you just one shocking example, in this country Indigenous babies die at twice the rate of other children. Now Indigenous leaders and the Federal Government will sign off on an ambitious new plan but some targets, like Indigenous justice, are stretched out to 2093.
