Global News published this video item, entitled “Afghanistan crisis: President Biden delivers remarks on evacuation mission of Americans, SIVs | LIVE” – below is their description.

U.S. President Joe Biden is expected to deliver remarks on Friday regarding the ongoing evacuation mission of American citizens, special immigrant visa (SIV) applicants and vulnerable Afghans out of Afghanistan as the Taliban takes over the country following the withdrawal of U.S. troops and allies.

Addressing the security situation in Afghanistan, Biden said on Monday that the recent events prove that “no amount of military force” would deliver a secure Afghanistan.

He said he would “not mislead the American people” about what the U.S. military could achieve in Afghanistan if given more time.

More than 18,000 people have been flown out of Kabul since the Taliban took over Afghanistan’s capital, a NATO official said on Friday, pledging to redouble evacuation efforts as criticism of the West’s handling of the crisis intensified.
