South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Afghan women launch Twitter campaign against strict Taliban dress code” – below is their description.
Afghan women around the world are posting photos of themselves on Twitter wearing traditional Afghan clothing, with hashtags such as #DoNotTouchMyClothes and #AfghanistanCulture. The campaign was sparked by a protest at Kabul University on September 11, 2021, by supposedly pro-Taliban women dressed in full-length black gowns with head and face coverings. The women involved in the Twitter campaign say they joined the online group to fight for their cultural identity and the freedom to wear what they want.
